Education in the Age of AI:
Opportunities, Boundaries, and Capabilities
Introduction
The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), and in particular the rise of generative AI (GAI), is reshaping the form and substance of educational technology at an unprecedented pace. Yet as AI becomes deeply embedded in the educational ecosystem, it also raises ethical challenges—data privacy, algorithmic bias, and questions of accountability—and places new demands on both the role of teachers and the autonomy of learners.
The 30th Global Chinese Conference on Computer Education Applications seeks to bring together experts and scholars from around the world in the fields of educational technology and AI in education. We will exchange insights on transformative trends, developmental pathways, and future visions for educational technology in the AI era. The conference is committed to proactively framing and deeply reflecting on the key question: “In the face of AI-driven change, where is educational technology headed?” Through interdisciplinary dialogue and a collision of global perspectives, we will not only explore “what can be used” in AI-enabled educational tools, but also probe “what defines the boundaries” and “what becomes possible.”
We look forward to joining with Chinese-speaking scholars worldwide to map out the cognitive landscape of educational innovation in the AI era—and to offering diverse solutions for building a future educational ecosystem that balances technological advancement with humanistic care.
